Back in Normandy to commemorate D-Day

Between Ste. Mére Eglise and Omaha Beach on June 5th, 2004 this new monument called: The World Peace Monument, was unveiled.

 

While on our way we met some German re-enactors. Clancy wanted to shake hands with them because, as he said, after 60 years that has to be possible, though it were no WWII Veterans.
During his visit to Normandy, Clancy was surprised by Filip Willems, his Belgium friend who made a website about him. On behalf of the city of Bastoge, Filip gave Clancy a commemoration medal with a charter

Some veterans received a commemoration medal from the mayor of Carentan.
